The Shale Gas sector in Europe is in its infancy.

Some of the recent shale gas finds include the entire Baltic basin, the Lublin basin in Poland, the Pannonian-Transylvanian basin in Hungary and Romania, as well as the Carpathian-Balkanian basin in Romania and Bulgaria.  The onshore drilling service industry in Europe is currently less developed as compared to that of the United States. On the other hand, the US shale industry has been continuously developing since the 1980s due to favourable taxation and regulation of unconventional developers. Europe could potentially skip this lengthy and capital-intensive process by partially adopting some solutions used by its overseas counterparts, and by basing its drilling capabilities on North American best practice.

Thorold Dewling Oil and Gas Recruitment are working with a global industry leader within the Oil and Gas sector.  Opportunities are becoming available in Warsaw, Aberdeen and Bucharest.  Nationals within those locations are being considered, as are expat opportunities, with particular experience within the US market highly desirable.  Global relocation packages are generous, and you should expect a degree of international travel.  Geology, Drilling HSE and Fracking exposure will be an advantage.

If you would like to be part of Shale Gas exploration and production in Europe in its infancy, please send across your details to info@thorold-dewling.co.uk or speak to the Director, George Reed on (+44) 1962 353144.  All discussions and expressions of industry will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
