Sparrows has sealed a sizeable two-year contract for work with EnQuest PLC in the North Sea.

The award will see Sparrows provide its specialist crane and maintenance services on the Thistle Alpha and Heather Alpha platforms. In addition, Sparrows will also provide engineering and maintenance services on the Northern Producer floating production platform.

Sparrows will work directly for EnQuest on Thistle and Heather; deputy business manager Pietro Fong will lead the contract delivery team, consisting of 10 dedicated members of staff.

Pietro said: “This latest contract award is great news for Sparrows and shows we are meeting clients’ expectations by delivering high standards of service.”

As part of the contract scope, Pietro’s team is already working on a project to replace both cranes on the Thistle A, which was originally installed in 1976. The first of the original cranes will be replaced by a new Kenz model this summer, with the second Kenz due to be installed in Q2 2014.
