Abu Dhabi state-controlled company Taqa has resumed output from the Causeway and Cormorant East fields in the UK North Sea.

The fields were shut-in last month while routine maintenance was carried out North Cormorant platform.

Field partner Antrim Energy revealed on Friday that the six-week maintenance programme had been completed and oil was flowing from the Causeway field, in UKCS P1383 Block 211/23d, and the Cormorant East field, in UKCS P201 Block 211/22a.

Output from both fields is processed at the North Cormorant platform before being exported to the Cormorant Alpha platform.

Production rates from Causeway are expected to increase over the next year following the startup of the electrical submersible pumps and the commencement of water injection at the field.
